What is Astronomy? Learning about space and the stars
Why did God create the Universe?
Why did God make the moon and the stars? For light and calendars and to mark the days that tomorrow is and today
What are constellations? The groups of stars in the sky
What are compasses for? To show us the way. You turn the thing and it points North
What do birds use for a compass? The stars
What do birds do in the spring and fall? Migrate north in the spring and south in the fall
Tell me about the Christmas star? It pointed the way to Bethlehem. The wise men saw it and followed it because they wanted to see Baby Jesus and give him gifts sweet smelling gifts
How can you tell what you see in the night sky is a star and not a planet? Because planets don’t twinkle and stars do.
Tell me about the stars that move fast across the sky? They are not shooting stars they are meteors.
What is the force that pulls on the earth? gravity
What do the other planets do for the earth? They keep the earth from tottering.
